2010 Landscapes (Experimental Project)

This project was an experimentation project produced at A level, with a theme of landscapes. the aim to to experiment and develop use of media to produce a mixed media final piece.

A5 monochromatic ink drawing

A5 complimentary colours experiment using acrylic and fineliner


A4 sand and emulsion base layer, with acrylic colur and ink outline.

A5 using the divisionist inspired technique of using points or dots to form the picture, but this is not fully pointillist work as i have not used completely primary colours to give the impression of a full palette of colours. This piece was produced on a constructed surface made from newspaper. 

A4 acrylic, used stappling for the trees and sky, and small brushstrokes for the grass.

A4 watercolour again using what would be stappling technique for the trees and sky, and (larger) brushstrokes for the grass.

A4 base layer of sand and emulsion with an acrylic layer made up of large loose brushstrokes.

A2 constructed surface with tissue paper and watercolour.

A2 Sand, emulsion and newspaper to create a surface, with watercolour in unusual landscape tones.

A2 Sand, emulsion and newspaper to create a surface, with watercolour in more traditional landscape tones.

A3 Sand and emulsion with watercolour.

A2 tissue and gesso, with watercolour and watered down acrylic.

A1 final piece, covered the initial canvas in emulsion and layers of newspaper, ripped excess newspaper off and added tissue paper with acrylic and watercolour. included the use of unusual tones for landscape to give the image a bright and untraditional approach.
